About Me
I grew up in New Jersey and many things inspired my appreciation and passion for photography. When I was younger my parents had hundreds and hundreds of pictures in photo albums which they kept out on a big bookshelf for all to enjoy. I remember everyone sitting around the table going through the albums, reminiscing about the past. Many times as they stumbled upon an old picture, I would see tears or would hear laughter as they said "Oh wow! I forgot all about this!" It was in these times that I realized how truly important photos are in capturing moments. I am also fortunate to have an aunt who is an amazing artist in every way, including photography. She has helped me with it through the years, including lending me her very expensive camera at times.
I embarked on my photography journey over 35 years ago with a Photography 101 class in school. It was intoxicating as I breathed in the chemicals in the dark room and watched "my moments" appear on the photo paper! I took another class and another....it was a hobby that soon consumed my heart. I find myself behind the camera or iPhone, capturing moments that others often overlooked. Though my friends and family occasionally express annoyance at my incessant picture-taking, they always end up grateful when I share the snapshots with them. I’ve learned that beauty exists in every corner of life; whether I’m strolling down my street or trekking through a breathtaking landscape, I can’t help but notice the “picture moments” waiting to be immortalized. Photography is more than a pastime for me; it’s a way of seeing and appreciating the beauty in the world around us.
